The Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium is a general education high school in Friesoythe , Lower Saxony , which is attended by around 1,400 students.
history
On November 22, 1955, the Friesoythe City Council decided to apply for a high school to be built. This decision received approval from the Ministry in 1957. Lessons could begin at Easter 1957. At first the school was called Gymnasium in Friesoythe . Additional buildings were completed in 1960, 1963, 1983 and 2006. On November 15, 1963, the school was renamed Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium. Since then, the namesake has been Saint Albertus Magnus .

Until the 2013/14 school year, the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium was one of the few high schools in Lower Saxony that offered lessons in ancient Greek .

- The school presented state winners several times in the competition of the Lower Saxony Classical Philological Association. V.
