Albino Montisci

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albino Montisci is an Italian songwriter of Christian folk and pop music . His musical style, which is based on traditional Cantautori , ranges from meditative (e.g. in Verso di Te ) to melodic (e.g. in Voci di liberta ) mostly guitar-driven music, often with stylistic elements from medieval bard music (e.g. in Son menestrello ). He plays the guitar himself. The Christian music magazine ixx compared him in the 1980s to the “Christian Angelo Branduardi". Since the 1990s he has increasingly devoted himself to the classical guitar (for example: album Montisci ).

Career

Montisci learned autodidactically at the age of 11 and then played in various bands. He studied classical guitar at the Turin Conservatory and made his debut in a chamber music ensemble. As a music teacher he worked at various schools. In 1978 his life turned to the Christian faith and he began to write Christian texts and compositions as a songwriter. A concert in the Netherlands in 1982 brought him first popularity . Since then he has appeared at concerts and festivals across Europe and in some cases beyond. 16 recordings have been made since then, on which his wife also contributes as the author of many texts. Appearances on television (for example: NOS , SDR , RAI ) have made him known beyond the Christian area.
