Albrecht Horn

Albrecht Horn (born March 12, 1940 in Grimma ) is a former German diplomat, "the highest-ranking employee that the GDR had sent to the United Nations", as well as an economist; he wrote numerous specialist publications.

Life

Albrecht Horn studied economics in Leipzig and graduated with a degree in economics. After successfully completing his doctoral studies, he received his doctorate in 1967 at the economics faculty of the Karl Marx University in Leipzig .

Horn was a director in the UN Secretary General's office in New York. He is a member of the board of the German Society for the United Nations and a member of the Academic Council of the UN system.
