Wild was intensely involved in painting. By the end of the 1990s, the "gray paintings", overpainting with industrial paint, were first created. The almost ornamental, multi-part Shaped Canvases followed . To this end, he developed the “Beermats” complex of works, which has continued to expand to this day. These beer mat works, which have been reassembled using cutting patterns, stand as individual objects on their own.

At the same time, he has been working on “dead ends” of society, three-dimensional and / or textual interventions in public and museum space since 1995. Examples are Boatpeople 2006/07, created in collaboration with his partner, the painter Suzanne Wild for the project "Fluid Artcanal International", his contribution to the exhibition Poverty - Perspectives in Art and Society in the City Museum Simeonstift Trier and Flagupy - Literature of Poverty , a flag project at the Villa Clementine literature house in Wiesbaden in 2013 as part of the Georg Büchner commemorative year 2013.
