The Slade School of Fine Art in London ( England ) is the art school of University College London . The Slade School on Gower Street in Bloomsbury is not only one of the most important British art schools, but is also internationally recognized as a leading training institution for artists.

history

The school was founded in 1871 with funds from the wealthy British lawyer and art collector Felix Slade and was decisively shaped by the first professor Edward Poynter . Poynter introduced the French system of art education.
