Nigel Phelps

Nigel Phelps (born March 16, 1962 in Lincolnshire , Great Britain ) is a British film architect .

Life

Phelps received his artistic training at London's Slade School of Fine Art . He gained his first practical experience with the design of advertising clips and music videos. Three of these videos (starring Lenny Kravitz , En Vogue and David Bowie ) received nominations for a music award from the music network MTV .

Nigel Phelps began with film under Anton Furst . His first work was in 1983 as a draftsman in the fantasy film Die Zeit der Wolfe . Two years later, Furst brought him in as his design assistant for Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam War film Full Metal Jacket . In Furst's subsequent work High Spirits and Batman , Nigel Phelps already served as a simple film architect. In 1994 he was able to design the film structures for the action flick Judge Dredd on his own for the first time. Since Phelps is one of the main Designer Hollywood , exclusively for elaborate, action-packed A-movies like Alien - The rebirth , Pearl Harbor , Troy , Revenge - Transformers , Transformers 3 and World War Z is used.
