Albuin (Carinthia)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albuin († before 975), part of the Aribones family , was margrave in Carinthia .

Albuin was married to Hildegard , who Wilhelm Wegener considers to be the daughter of Count Aribo von Leoben (documented in 904), and who has numerous legends.

Albuin's and Hildegard's ancestral seats were allegedly the (remote) Prossnitz Castle on the Skarbin and the nearby (remote) Alt-Stein Castle on the Steiner Berg on the other side of the Drau , one and a half kilometers southwest of Stein im Jauntal .
