Culture and sights
Catholic parish church Sankt Lorenz
The St. Lorenz Church in the Eberndorf deanery is said to have been donated as early as the 11th century. The design of this small church, which rises on a hill that slopes steeply to the south and east, shows different construction times for the individual parts. The three-sided, semicircular end of the choir with crypt on the inside still belongs to the Romanesque period. The nave and the choir square have a composite cross vault with ribs, which run into the wall. Three round keystones. The tower is from more recent times. With regard to the crypt it should be noted that it extends below the square and is here divided by four rather weak round columns; round arched cross vaults, small semicircular windows in the extremely strong walls (9 feet in the nave, 6 feet in the choir); the Romanesque tufa building. On the south side an inwardly eight-sided, outwardly round charnel house, made of hewn stone with a semicircular conche , pointed arched vault, with two semicircular wall slots, an ogival arched door and a conical roof over the cornice .
Catholic cemetery church Sankt Margareta
The Catholic cemetery church is St. Margarete and also of Romanesque origin with later expansion. The baroque main altar shows a statue of St. Margaret flanked by two saints. Remains of Gothic frescoes can be seen on the southern inner wall.
Carinthian Way of the Cross
The stations of the Carinthian Way of the Cross, which leads up from the valley to the parish church, were created by contemporary artists.
Wayside shrines
The large and small Hildegard picture stick in town are well worth seeing .
