Aldo Amati

Aldo Amati (born January 2, 1958 in Bergamo ) is an Italian diplomat .

Education

Career

On February 14, 1987, he joined the foreign service. From February 16 to November 14, 1987, he received further training at the Diplomatic Institute. On November 14, 1987, he was appointed Secretary of the Second Class and was employed in the Public Relations Department until July 14, 1990 . From July 14, 1990 to April 1, 1992 he was the Secretary of the Embassy in Moscow , where he was appointed Secretary of the First Class on August 14, 1991. From September 26, 1994 to December 1, 1997 he was in London , where he was appointed Counselor on May 1, 1997. On July 13, 1998, he was appointed envoy in the role of office manager. From July 3, 2000 to August 28, 2001, he taught at the Diplomatic Institute. From August 28, 2001 to September 5, 2005, he served as Counselor in Washington, DC , where he was named First Class Counselor on August 7, 2003. From September 5, 2005 to February 23, 2009, he was first class counselor in Tokyo , where he was appointed Ministre plénipotentiaire on January 2, 2009 . From February 23, 2009 to December 16, 2010 he was Deputy Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation . From September 15, 2011 to July 2, 2013 he held the post of diplomatic advisor to the presidential administration. From July 2, 2013 to October 16, 2014, he was in charge of public relations at the ministry. He has been ambassador to Prague since October 16, 2014 .

Awards

Since 2013 he has been a Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .
