Aldo Maldera (born October 14, 1953 in Milan , † August 1, 2012 in Rome ) was an Italian football player .

Career

Maldera began his career in the youth of AC Milan . In 1971 he joined the first team and was awarded to FC Bologna in November 1972 . After only three games in Bologna , he returned to the Rossoneri and stayed until 1982. In 1973, he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in Milan . He also won a championship title with the club and was three times cup winner. In 1982 Maldera moved to AS Roma . In his first season for the Romans, he was again Italian champion, and in 1984 he won another national cup. In 1985, Maldera moved to Fiorentina , where he let his career end after two seasons in Serie A.

Internationally, Maldera played ten times for the Italian selection . He took part in the Football World Cup in Argentina in 1978 and finished fourth with the team. He was used once at this World Cup. He also took part in the 1980 European Football Championship in Italy , where he was also fourth with the Squadra Azzurra .
