HD 4208 is a main sequence star of the spectral class G5 in the constellation Sculptor (sculptor), around which a planet was discovered in 2001 . As a yellow dwarf , the star, although a little smaller and cooler, is very similar to our sun . Even with good binoculars , the HD 4208, which has an apparent brightness of 7.8 mag, can be made out. With a semi-major axis of only 1.65  AU , the exoplanet named HD 4208 b orbits its star with an eccentricity of the orbit of 0.05 in a relatively close orbit.
