Alexander George "Alec" Cheyne (born April 28, 1907 in Glasgow , † July 5, 1983 ) was a Scottish football player and coach.
Career
The center forward began his football career at Aberdeen FC in 1925. In 1930 he moved to Chelsea for the then club-internal record of £ 6,000. Cheyne was initially unable to assert himself in England , so he moved to Olympique Nîmes in France in 1932 . From 1932 to 1934, Cheyne returned to Chelsea one more time. After only nine games in two years, he ended his career and was coach of FC Arbroath from 1949 to 1955. Internationally, he played five times for Scotland and scored four goals.
