Alec Severin
Alec Severin (born December 29, 1963 in Ixelles ( Belgium )), pseudonym Al Severin or AL , is a Belgian comic artist ( Franco- Belgian comic ).
Life
The Belgian artist Alec Severin was born in 1963 into a family of artists. His great-grandfather Fernand was already active as a poet, his grandfather Marc as a copperplate engraver, calligrapher and illustrator and his father Eric as a graphic designer.
Alec Severin illustrated a book for the first time at the age of 14, which was published a year later under the title It's raining cats and dogs . In 1981 his own work L'Affaire Tchang followed , as well as an adaptation of Die Zeitmaschine , before he set about designing his comic books Gratin and A Story of War , which were edited by Michel Deligne. In the 1990s he developed a series with Bill Cosmos, which began in 1992 with Les Adventures de Harry and lasted until 2003 with Harry: retour à Boulogne-sur-Mer . In 2007 he published the anthology Kerkhofwachters , edited by Manuel Rodriguez, in which he illustrated a poem by his great-grandfather, among other things.
Severin later founded his own publishing house, Several Pictures, and also works for various Belgian and English comic magazines.
