Delcourt (Publisher)

Éditions Delcourt or short Delcourt is a French publishing house based in Paris , which refers to comics and Manga specializes. It was founded in 1986 following the merger of Charlie Mensuel and Pilote magazines . Guy Delcourt, previously chief editor of the Pilote , named the new publishing house initially Guy Delcourt Productions , later Éditions Delcourt .

Delcourt is the third largest publisher of Franco-Belgian comic albums , after Média-Participations and Glénat , and produces around 480 comics per year.

In June 2013, Éditions Delcourt announced the separation from their manga label Akata at the end of 2013. Pierre Valls took over Delcourt's manga division in January 2014.

  • 1987–1989: around 10 to 20 new publications a year
  • 1989–1997: 20–50 new publications a year
  • 1998–2001: 60–100 new publications a year
  • 2002: 104 new publications per year + 6 mangas
  • 2003: 116 new publications per year + 51 mangas
  • 2004: 140 new publications per year + 71 mangas
  • 2005: 212 new publications per year, including around 80 manga
  • 2006: 266 new publications a year, including 90 mangas, 45 comics and 22 books for young people
