Alejandro Castillo Barrera

Nelson Alejandro Castillo Barrera (born May 16, 1951 - September 10, 2010 ) was a Uruguayan surfer and sports official.

Alejandro Castillo Barrera was one of the first surfers in Uruguay and founded Uruguay's first surf club with friends in the late 1960s with the Uruguayan Wave Riders (UWARIS) in Las Toscas . From 2006 until his death in September 2010, he was President of the Unión de Surf del Uruguay (USU). On the political level, after Uruguay returned to democracy from a phase of civil-military dictatorship in the mid-1980s, he worked as Edil in Lascano . He belonged to the Partido Nacional . Castillo Barrera, who was married with children, was buried in the city of Lascano.
