Aleksandar Denic
Aleksandar Denić (born October 31, 1963 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian set designer and film production designer . He became known above all with more than 20 assignments as a scenographer for feature films as well as assignments at large theaters in Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Paris, Zurich and Munich.
Life
Denic holds a degree in film and set design from the Academy of Applied Arts, University of the Arts Belgrade . According to the order situation there, after graduating he worked primarily as a production designer for film projects, including increasingly large ones such as Underground by Emir Kusturica .
He has also been the production designer for more than 100 television commercials, including Renault-Clio, SAS and Lucky Strike.
It was only when Frank Castorf , who traveled to Belgrade for a cooperation project, got to know him around the turn of the millennium, that he was able to live out his preference for theater work. For his set design in Castorf's staging of Celine's Journey to the End of the Night 2013 at the Munich Residenztheater , he was named "Set Designer of the Year" in the theater critic poll of Theater heute 2014.
In 2013 he realized the Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuth Festival with his declared favorite director Frank Castorf .
In 2015 Denic worked at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg , and he continues to work regularly at the Residenztheater in Munich .
