The University of the Arts Belgrade ( Serbian: Универзитет уметности у Београду / Univerzitet umetnosti u Beogradu) is a university of music, arts and theater in Belgrade and was founded in 1957.
history
The history of the Belgrade University of Arts begins in 1937, when the first art college and music college were founded in Belgrade . In 1947 the Academy for Drama and in 1948 the Academy for Applied Arts are formed. In 1953 the academies merged to form the Belgrade Art Academy. In 1973 the art academies were expanded to become faculties, and the art academy became the University of the Arts, Belgrade's second independent university.
Around 1,700 students are currently studying.
