Aleksandras Dobryninas

Aleksandras Dobryninas (born May 10, 1955 in Kaliningrad , RSFSR ) is a Lithuanian sociologist and criminologist .

biography

In 1977 Aleksandras Dobryninas graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Vilnius University and received his PhD in philosophy in 1985. From 1977 to 1979 he worked at the Institute for Forensics, from 1984 to 1988 as a professor at the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). He has been teaching at Vilnius University since 1988 and has been Head of the Department of Social Theory since 1996 and Professor since 2002. In 1992 he was director of the Institute for International Relations. Aleksandras Dobryninas teaches criminology at the Faculty of Philosophy and Law Faculty of Vilnius University.

He is one of the founders of the Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga party . From 2000 to 2002 he was Chairman of the Board of Transparency International Lithuania . Since June 1, 2006, he has been leading the project “Interdisciplinary Criminology Studies at Vilnius University” and is a member of the administrative and coordination group, employee of the Center for Criminology Studies.
