Alem, Maren en Kessel was a municipality in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant . It was formed on January 1, 1821 by the union of the three municipalities Alem , Kessel and Maren , which lay south of the Meuse . After the Meuse had been widened, channeled and diverted by extensive hydraulic engineering measures in the 1930s, Alem was north of the river. On January 1, 1958, the municipality was dissolved and divided along the course of the river: Alem joined the Gelders municipality of Maasdriel and thus changed its province. Kessel and Maren were incorporated into Lith , which has been part of the municipality of Oss since 2011 .
