Mary Mulligan

Mary Mulligan (born February 12, 1960 in Liverpool ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish Labor Party . Mulligan was a Member of the Scottish Parliament between 1999 and 2011 .

Life

Mulligan graduated from Manchester University with a BA in Economics and Social Sciences. She is married and has three children.

Political career

From 1988 to 1999, Mulligan was a member of Edinburgh City Council. For the Scottish parliamentary elections in 1999 she stood as a direct candidate of the Labor Party for the constituency of Linlithgow and won the vote with almost 3000 votes ahead of the candidate of the Scottish National Party . Mulligan defended her mandate in the 2003 and 2007 general elections , but was defeated by Scottish National Party candidate Fiona Hyslop in the 2011 general election .
