Alena Unger (born November 23, 1983 in Jindřichův Hradec , born Alena Vojtíšková ) is a former Czech handball player who played several seasons in the Bundesliga .

Career

Alena Unger initially played for a lower-class Czech club and then moved to a club from her native Jindřichův Hradec. The backcourt player then joined the Czech first division club DHC Slavia Prague , with whom she also played in the European Cup. In 2004 the left-hander switched to the German Bundesliga club VfL Oldenburg , for whom she played two seasons. Unger then signed a contract with the newly promoted Bundesliga club Frisch Auf Göppingen . With Göppingen she was in the final of the EHF Challenge Cup in 2010 . In 2014 she moved to the second division Neckarsulmer Sport-Union. With Neckarsulm, she rose to the Bundesliga in 2016. She ran for Neckarsulm until her pregnancy in October 2017.

Alena Unger played 46 caps for the Czech national team , scoring 109 goals.
