Alessandra Ammara

Alessandra Ammara (* 1972 in Florence ) is an Italian pianist .

Life

She completed her studies at the Conservatorio “L. Cherubini ”in Florence in 1990 with a diploma (maximum number of points). From 1993 to 1999 she continued her education at the Accademia Pianistica “Incontri col Maestro” di Imola . Her teachers included Paul Badura-Skoda , Boris Petrushansky , Franco Scala and Maria Tipo. International concert tours have taken her to the great halls of Germany ( Laeiszhalle Hamburg), the Netherlands ( Concertgebouw of Amsterdam), Austria, Poland, Romania, Spain, France (Salle Cortot in Paris) and the USA.

In 2000 she was a Laureate of the Esther Honens Piano Competition in Calgary, Canada. The orchestras she has worked with include the Berlin Symphony Orchestra , the Vienna Symphony Orchestra , the Sinfonica della Rai Orchestra, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and many other orchestras in Europe, the US and Canada. In chamber music projects, musicians like Ingrid Attrot, Rocco Filippini, Alban Gerhardt, Anton Kuerti, Shauna Rolston and the Takács and Sine Nomen Quartet are her partners. Since 1999 she has also performed regularly in a piano duo with her husband Roberto Prosseda .

Awards

  • In 1997 she won first prize at the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli International Piano Competition;
  • Second winner of the "Alessandro Casagrande di Terni", " GB Viotti " di Vercelli and "Premio Jaén" (Spain)

CD (selection)

The artist's recordings include works by Debussy, Scriabin and Chopin. Her CD with the four ballads by Chopin was released in autumn 2008.
