Boris Petrushansky

Boris Vsevolodovič Petrushansky (* 1949 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a naturalized pianist and university teacher in Italy .

Life

Petrushansky is the last pianist of Heinrich Neuhaus at the Moscow Conservatory in the professional piano was formed. In 1969 he finished fourth in the third Leeds International Piano Competition , won by Radu Lupu . In 1975 he won the tenth Concorso pianistico "Alessandro Casagrande" in Terni , Italy. Since 1975 he has been solo pianist at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto , the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Festival pianistico internazionale "Arturo Benedetti Michelangelo" and played with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic , the Berlin State Orchestra and the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra.

After the end of the Soviet Union, Petrushansky settled in Italy. There he still works at the Accademia pianistica internazionale "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola . There his students included Roberto Prosseda , Fanny Azzuro , Olga Kern , Michael Lifits , Kiryl Keduk , Sofya Gulyak , Aleksandra Mikulska and Federico Colli . He also played under the conductors Valeri Abissalowitsch Gergijew and Roberto Abbado and accompanied the violinists Leonid Borissowitsch Kogan and Igor Dawidowitsch Oistrach , the cellist Mischa Maisky and the soprano Cecilia Gasdia .
