Alessandro Belometti

Alessandro Belometti (born October 22, 1973 in Legnano ) is an Italian enduro athlete and motocrosser . He was a member of the victorious Italian trophy team at the International Six-Day Races in 2005 and 2007.

Career

Belometti celebrated his first successes as a regional champion in mini cross. In 1987 he won the Trofeo Nord Italia in motocross. In 1989 he became the Italian youth motocross champion in the class up to 80 cm³. 1991 followed the title in the Italian youth championship in the class up to 125 cm³.

From 1993 Belometti started in the Motocross World Championship . He reached a 34th place in the class up to 125 cm³. The following year he came in 15th and in 1995 he was 23rd in 1996 he was seventh with a Honda in the World Championship and in 1997 he came eleventh with a Kawasaki .

In 1998 he became champion in the open Italian championship and won the Trofeo Supercampione. In the world championship he was eighth in the 125 cc class with a Yamaha . The following year he was Italian runner-up and second at the Trofeo Supercampione. In the Motocross World Championship he switched to the class up to 250 cm³. With Yamaha he finished tenth in the end. In 2000 he finished fourth in the Tricolore championship and was twelfth with a Kawasaki in the world championship in the class up to 250 cm³. In 2001 he was champion in the Tricolore championship in the class up to 125 cm³ and second in the Trofeo Supercampione. In the world championship he switched back to class up to 125 cm³ and finished eleventh with a Yamaha. In 2002 he moved to VOR and was sixth in the open Italian championship and 28th in the world championship in the class up to 500 cc. In 2003 he drove again in the class up to 125 cm³. He was fourth in the Italian championship and second in the senior class.

In 2004 he switched from motocross to enduro sport. In the Enduro World Championship he was sixth in the E1 class and second in the class up to 125 cm³ in the Italian championship. In 2005 he became Italian champion in this class. In the world championship he was third in class E1. At the international six-day race in Slovakia he was a member of the victorious national trophy team.

In 2006 he became Italian champion in class E1 in the "Hard Race" category. In the overall ranking of the championship, he came second in the class up to 250 cc four-stroke and achieved fourth place in the evaluation of all classes. In the world championship he was fourth in class E1. In 2007 he was able to defend his title in the "Hard Race" category. In the championship he was third in the class up to 250 cc four-stroke. At the international six-day race in Chile, he was the captain of the victorious national trophy team.

In 2008 he was able to win the title in the "Hard Race" category again. In the class up to 250 cc two-stroke, he won the Italian championship. In the world championship he achieved a third place in class E2. In the international six-day race, he won class E1 and was second with the Italian national team. In 2009 he won the Italian championship in the class up to 250 cc two-stroke. In the world championship he was seventh in class E2. At the six-day trip in Portugal he was again the captain and finished second with the team.

In 2010 Belometti only competed in the Italian Enduro Championship. In the World Cup he is on the road as a supervisor.
