Alessandro Gritti (born April 1, 1947 in Vertova ) is an Italian enduro athlete . He won the Enduro European Championship several times and was a member of the victorious national team at the International Six-Day Race in 1981 on Elba .

Career

Alessandro Gritti started motorsport in 1966. In his first year as an active player he was Italian junior champion on a Moto Morini 100. In 1967 he had to do his military service. Gritti went to the Guardia di Finanza sports group for five years . That year he won the Italian Enduro Championship in the class up to 250 cm³. He was able to repeat this title in 1969. In 1970 he became Italian champion in the class up to 175 cm³. From 1972 to 1974 he won the championship in the class up to 125 cm³ three times in a row on Puch (1972, 1973) and Gilera (1974) before moving back to the class up to 175 cm³ and KTM the following year and becoming champion again. That year he won the Enduro European Championship in the class up to 250 cm³ and became Italian Motocross Champion.

In 1976 Gritti won the European championship in the class up to 125 cm³ and was the winner of the class and individual rankings at the international six-day ride on a 250 cm³ KTM. In 1977 he won the European Championship in the class up to 250 cm³. In 1979 he won the national motocross championship in the class up to 250 cm³. At the international six-day race he was class winner in the 125 cc class. At the end of the season he was fired from KTM due to his age. Gritti then switched to Kramer .

In 1980 and 1981 he was again Italian champion. In 1981 Gritti was also able to win the European championship in the class up to 250 cm³. At the international six-day race this year he won the class and individual classification on a 250 cm³ Kramer in addition to the trophy team classification. In 1982, Gritti was not competitive with SWM . From the following year he was back on the road with KTM.

In 1985 he became champion of all classes at the Italian Enduro Championship. In 1990 he was again Italian enduro champion with a 600 cc four-stroke Husqvarna .

In 1996 and 1997 he was once again Italian champion in the senior class.

At 69 years old, Gritti was the oldest participant in the field of drivers at the 91st International Six-Day Race 2016 in Spain. With the club team he reached 42nd place out of 123, 55th place out of 113 in his class and won a bronze medal.
