The Aletsch area is a region in the canton of Valais in Switzerland . It extends in the Rhone Valley from Naters to Fiesch and includes the alpine areas around the Aletsch Glacier to the north .

The region around the Aletsch Glacier is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn UNESCO World Heritage Site . The area on the northern slope of the Rhone Valley is a tourist region with numerous winter sports resorts.

The Aletsch region includes the tourist regions Belalp , Riederalp , Bettmeralp , Fiescheralp , Mörel-Breiten and the western part of the Goms .
