Alex Hensel is a former Swiss skeleton athlete .

At the beginning of the 1990s, Alex Hensel was a member of the Swiss national team. In February 1990 he made his debut in the Skeleton World Cup in Igls , where he was 20th. Until January 1992 he took part in other World Cup races. Hensel achieved his best result with a 14th place in 1991 on his home track in St. Moritz . In the same place he won the bronze medal at the Swiss Championships in 1990, behind Gregor Stähli and Markus Kottmann . He retired from competitive sports in 1992 but continued to compete in local and veteran races well into the 2000s.
