Alexander Berger (born May 20, 1970 in Ahlen ) is a German non-party mayor . He is the full-time mayor of the Münsterland city ​​of Ahlen.

Life

Alexander Berger made his Abitur at the Ahlener Städtischen Gymnasium. He did his military service at the 531 Jägerbataillon in Ahlen. He studied business law at the University of Osnabrück ; he completed his studies with a master's degree in tax science. He did his doctorate with Jörg Manfred Mössner on the topic of international tax law with the title of company handover against pensions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland .

He worked as a lawyer at PricewaterhouseCoopers Deutsche Revision in Essen and at a commercial law firm in Münster . Since 2009 he has been head of government in the Münster administrative district .

As a tennis player , Berger Ahlener was city champion in singles and doubles. He plays at TC BW 23 Ahlen . Alexander Berger is married and has two sons.

Mayor's office

In the mayoral election in Ahlen in 2015, the incumbent mayor Benedikt Ruhmöller ( CDU ) no longer stood. The non-party Alexander Berger was nominated as the candidate of the CDU and FDP . In the first ballot on September 13, 2015, he received 47.7 percent of the valid votes with a turnout of 45.85 percent. In the runoff election on September 27, 2015, he won the election with just under 50.9 percent with a turnout of 44.9 percent.
