Alexander Grebchenko

Alexander Grebtschenko ( Bulgarian Александър Гребченко ; * 1975 in Varna ) is a composer of Bulgarian descent living in Germany .

Life

After studying instrumental, Grebtschenko studied composition and electronic music at the Freiburg University of Music with Cornelius Schwehr and Mesías Maiguashca . From 2004 to 2011 he headed the newly founded studio for electronic and electroacoustic music at the Konstanz Music School. He is a lecturer in electronic composition at the Institute for New Music at the University of Music Freiburg and head of the studio for electronic music.

Concerts and guest courses have taken him to numerous European countries, as well as North and South America, Australia and China ( Expo 2010 Shanghai ). He received scholarships, a. a. at the Donaueschinger Musiktage , state graduate funding in the field of acoustics and a grant from the Federal President. He received composition commissions from ensemble recherche , duo contour, Ensemble Alarm, Ensemble Chronophonie and arte / ZDF in collaboration with the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin (setting of the silent film “ Arsenal ”, USSR 1929).

His work moves in a wide field between written music and improvisation, sound installation , electronic music , film music , kinetic art and the like. a. Limits in general and limits of perception in particular are a central issue.
