Alexander Krampe

Alexander Krampe (born March 22, 1967 in Graz ) is a German-Austrian arranger and composer .

Alexander Krampe began his musical training with the Regensburger Domspatzen . After studying piano with Radu Toescu and Michael Endres, he began working as a jazz singer in 1990. He worked here with Horst Jankowski , Peter Herbolzheimer , Larry Porter and Peter Tuscher, among others . In 1991 he became a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra . He then studied philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy SJ

In 1997 Alexander Krampe made his debut as an arranger with the arrangement of "L'Italiana in Algeri" by Gioachino Rossini for wind quintet and celesta. Since then he has been responsible for further arrangements within the classical and Afro-American music field. His arrangements for solo instrumental ensembles have long since become a trademark of the Munich Chamber Opera . In 2014 Alexander Krampe edited and arranged the music of Gioachino Rossini for a new production of the Salzburg Festival "La Cenerentola for Children".

His compositional work includes songs as well as chamber and orchestral music; the world premiere of his opera "Der Fatzke" took place in 2006.
