Chamber Opera Munich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Munich Chamber Opera is a free Munich opera ensemble with changing venues that was founded in 2004 by Christiane Steffens, Christophe Gördes and Carlos Dominguez-Nieto.

ensemble

The Munich Chamber Opera casts its productions with young singers and has thus developed into a cadre forge for young singers at the beginning of their careers.

The orchestra is made up of free musicians who, in addition to their work on Munich's stages and orchestras, have come together specifically for this type of art.

repertoire

In addition to major stage works, the chamber opera regularly shows concert evenings and composer portraits by Rossini, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert with the participation of well-known artist personalities such as Michael Mendl , Michaela May , Sophie von Kessel , Sabine Sauer , Gerd Anthoff , Lisa Wagner , August Zirner , Thomas Loibl , Friedrich von Thun and Johannes Silberschneider . There are also concert projects with singers such as Juliane Banse , Waltraud Meier , Robert Gambill , Günther Groissböck , Daniel Behle and Okka von der Damerau .

The pieces listed are mostly played in new text versions and arrangements:

Venues

In addition to changing venues in Munich , such as the Cuvilliés Theater , the Hubertussaal in Nymphenburg Palace has been used regularly since 2008. The Munich Künstlerhaus on Lenbachplatz and the All Saints Court Church of the Munich Residence have emerged as winter quarters in recent years . The Munich Chamber Opera appears at festivals, events and guest performances throughout the German-speaking region.

financing

The Munich Chamber Opera does not receive any regular public funding and is therefore dependent on the support of sponsors. This includes, above all, her committed circle of friends as well as the Upper Bavaria district , the Friends of the National Theater in Munich, the Offensive Zukunft Bayern and MünchenMusik.
