Alexander Kucera (born May 29, 1967 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pedagogue, psychotherapist and author. Kucera is the founder and director of several Catholic private schools with public rights in the school association Institut Sta. Christiana .

Career

Kucera attended elementary school and high school in Vienna-Hietzing and then studied psychology, philosophy and theology at the University of Vienna and Harvard University , Boston, USA. In 1989 he completed his studies in psychology and philosophy with the academic degree Mag. Phil. from. In 1992 he completed his studies in theology with the academic degree Mag. Theol. from. In 1999 he received his doctorate in philosophy. In 2000 he completed his training as a psychotherapist and was entered on the list of psychotherapists of the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection .

Kucera has been working as a teacher in various vocational schools since 1989. In addition, from 1996 to 2007 he was employed in teacher training, advanced training and further education at the Religious Education Institute of the Archdiocese of Vienna and subsequently until 2009 as a professor at the Church Educational University of Vienna / Krem. From 1996 to 2002, Kucera was employed as a consultant psychotherapist at the Lower Austrian Social Pedagogical Center in Hinterbrühl and has been an independent psychotherapist in his own practice since 1998. From 2001 Kucera founded the Sta. Christiana has run several Catholic private schools with public rights and has run them since their foundation. He is the author of several books and articles and co-author of a four-volume textbook series for religious education in upper secondary level.

Kucera is married, lives in Kottingbrunn / Lower Austria and has two daughters.

Voluntary work

From 2005 to 2008 Kucera was chairman of the Catholic Family Association of the Archdiocese of Vienna. Since 2017 he has been the deputy director of the international education network PILGRIM .
