Alexander Malchow (born September 6, 1862 in Staßfurt , † 1943 ) was a German roofing felt manufacturer and politician.

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Halberstadt, Alexander Malchow studied chemistry at the universities of Leipzig and Freiburg. In 1884 he became a member of the Corps Thuringia Leipzig . He completed his studies in 1888 with a doctorate. phil. from. Then he joined his father's company AF Malchow oHG in Leopoldshall and Staßfurt. When it was converted into a stock corporation in 1922, he became a member of the board. Under his leadership, branches were set up in Munich and Hamburg.

Malchow was also managing director of the subsidiary Baugesellschaft Malchow mbH in Berlin and Königsberg, founder and managing director of the Radeweller raw cardboard factory in Radewell and co-founder of the road construction company Durit GmbH in Prague. When the United Dachpappenfabriken AG was founded in Berlin, he became a member of the company's supervisory board and committee. In 1921 he was elected first chairman of the Association of German Roofing Paper Manufacturers eV after he had previously been deputy chairman of the board of this registered association since 1912. After the 25th annual general meeting of the Association of German Roofing Fibers on March 24, 1926 in Berlin, he headed two committees of the association, the customs and employers' committee. Furthermore he was chairman of the Reichsverband Deutscher Dachpappenfabrikanten eV, deputy chairman of the Deutsche Dachpappenvereinigung GmbH and member of the board of the employers' association of the chemical industry.

In 1911 he became a member of the Anhalt State Parliament as a representative of industry. In the election of December 15, 1918, he was elected a member of the constituent Anhalt State Assembly.
