Alexander Paischeff

Alexander Paischeff (born March 1, 1894 in Vyborg , † November 15, 1941 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish painter.

From 1908 to 1912 he studied at the Kunstvereins drawing school in Vyborg, from 1912 to 1914 at the Finnish Kunstvereins drawing school in Helsinki and in 1914/15 at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Helsinki. In 1910 and 1913 he stayed in Petersburg for study purposes. In 1914 he exhibited for the first time in Helsinki, and in the 1930s in Russia, Scandinavia and Germany. At first he mainly painted animals, later mainly landscapes. He also wrote essays on Finnish painters.

His sister was the dancer Mary Paischeff (1899–1975). His first marriage was in 1917/18 with the textile artist Eva Anttila (1894-1993), from this marriage the daughter Eila (1918-1994) emerged, who worked as an art critic.
