Alexander Shnaider

Alexander "Alex" Shnaider (* 1969 in Leningrad ) is a Canadian businessman and billionaire. He is director of the Midland Group and has owned the Israeli soccer club Maccabi Tel Aviv since the beginning of 2008 .

Life

Shnaider graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree. He makes his living in the manufacturing industry and lives in Toronto . He is married there and has three children.

Engagement in Formula 1

Alex Shnaider bought in January 2005 , the financially troubled Jordan team from Eddie Jordan and named it for the 2006 season in Midland F1 Racing to. So he avoided the complete rebuild and the registration fee of $ 48 million.

Alex Shnaider had previously planned through a partnership with Dallara for the 2006 season to have the racing cars produced in Italy and not in the old Jordan factory in England ( Silverstone , Northamptonshire ), which was no longer necessary with the purchase of the Jordan racing team. In September 2006, Shnaider sold his racing team to the Dutch car manufacturer Spyker , which launched its own Formula 1 team in 2007 under the name Spyker F1 .
