Alexander Steinmann

Alexander Steinmann is a German mechanical engineer , university professor and department head at the Berlin School of Economics and Law . He is also a freelance CAE consultant.

academic career

Alexander Steinmann studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and the Technical University of Darmstadt , specializing in fluid mechanics and fluid machines . He then worked as a research assistant and senior assistant at the TU Berlin. He did his doctorate on numerical and experimental investigations of the one- and two-phase flow in a technically ventilated sewage pond under Helmut Siekmann .

In 2011 he returned to an academic job when he became professor and head of mechanical engineering at the HWR Berlin. The "Design and Manufacturing" course organized by him was voted the best dual study program in Germany in 2018. Prior to that, he was head of the research and development department for fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and acoustics in a global fluid flow machine group with headquarters in North Rhine-Westphalia . In this context, he was responsible for research and development projects from various European and Asian company locations with corresponding personnel responsibilities. He also became a visiting professor at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology in 2015 . There he was voted "Best Professor of the Year 2016".
