Alexander Vogt (born December 21, 1978 in Herne ) is a German journalist and politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2010 .

Life

His education took place in the Waldorf School " Hibernia " in Herne. In 1999 he completed his school career with a high school diploma while training as an electrician and with a three-month New Zealand experience in the social field. After completing his community service, he studied journalism from 2002 to 2005 at the Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences , completing a Bachelor's degree. In 2006 he founded a communications agency in Herne, whose management he resigned after his successful candidacy for the state parliament.

Alexander Vogt has been married since 2008, has two children and lives in Herne.

politics

Alexander Vogt has been a member of the SPD since 1998 and was Juso chairman in the sub-district of Herne from 1998 to 2004 . From 2004 to 2010 he was a member of the city council of Herne. Vogt was elected to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as a direct candidate in constituency 110 (Herne) in 2010 , 2012 and 2017 . Since 2012 he has also been chairman of the SPD sub-district of Herne. In 2016 he was elected to the state executive committee of the SPD North Rhine-Westphalia .

In the state parliament he is active in the committee for economy, energy and regional planning (previously: economy, energy, industry, small and medium-sized businesses and crafts) as well as in the culture and media committee. He is media policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group. In addition, he is a member of the media commission of the SPD party executive in Berlin, a member of the broadcasting council of WDR and a member of IG BCE .
