Alexander Komarov

Alexander Wissarionowitsch Komarow ( Russian Александр Виссарионович Комаров ; * 1830 , † 1904 ) was a general in the Russian army .

Alexander Vissarionowitsch Komarow was educated in the cadet corps of Saint Petersburg and was transferred to the regiment of the guard hunters in 1849 . With this he was involved in the suppression of the uprising in Hungary from June of the same year .

In 1856 Komarow was transferred to the Caucasus and from 1859 was mostly involved in the administration of the Caucasus and Trans-Caspian (the areas under Russian rule on the Asian side of the Caspian Sea ). In 1882 he was appointed supreme commander of the Trans Caspi region and as such captured Merw in 1884 . In 1885 Komarov commanded the Russian troops on the border with Afghanistan , where on March 30th he incited entanglements between Russia and England by firmly rejecting the Afghans whom he pursued into their territory .
