History and description
The house at Alexanderstraße 27 was built around 1590. The building was badly damaged during World War II .
After the war, the house was rebuilt with a modeled Renaissance gable. The window layout on the ground floor and the 1st floor does not correspond to the historical model.
Monument protection
The house at Alexanderstraße 27 - from the first Alte Vorstadt building phase - is a typical example of the renaissance style in Darmstadt. For architectural and city history reasons, the building is considered a cultural monument .
The house today
Today the building houses business premises, the KDStV Nassovia Darmstadt student association and apartments.
