The house Alexanderstraße 29 (formerly: Ballonplatz 5 ) is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The house at Alexanderstraße 29 was built around 1590. The building has three window axes and a simple tail gable .
In the middle of the 19th century this farm house was rebuilt. The gate entrance was built over and provided with a mansard roof. The ground floor was changed to be used as a shop or restaurant.
The house was badly damaged during World War II . After the war the building was rebuilt.
Monument protection
The house at Alexanderstraße 29 is a typical example of the renaissance style in Darmstadt. The building comes from the first Alte Vorstadt construction phase. For architectural and city history reasons, the building is considered a cultural monument .

There is a restaurant ( DA NINO ) on the ground floor . There are apartments on the upper floors .
