Alexei Wjatscheslavowitsch Liwenzow ( Russian Алексей Вячеславович Ливенцов ; born November 2, 1981 in Ryazan ) is a Russian table tennis player . He is multiple Russian champion and won bronze medals twice at the European championships . He is right-handed and uses the shakehand racket pose . He currently plays for the Russian club Gazprom Fakel Orenburg .

Career

In 1995 Liwenzow was accepted into the national team and from then on had his first international appearances. He was able to win bronze in mixed at the European Schoolchildren's Championships and reach the round of 16 in singles.

In 1996 he was even able to win two gold medals at the same tournament (doubles and team) and bronze in singles. He was able to achieve similar placements until 2002. In 2003 he took part in his first world championship , but could not achieve particularly outstanding results, but became cup champions with his club Gazprom Fakel Orenburg in the same year.

In 2004 he took part in the Russian and Czech Open, among others, where the Russian won bronze in a double and was able to improve by over 30 places in the world rankings . At the team world championship in the same year he was able to reach the round of 16 with the team, the best placement of a Russian team at all.

Due to heavy inactivity until 2008, he temporarily dropped 80 places in the world rankings. At the Pro Tour Grand Finals (2008) he was third in doubles with Igor Rubzow . At the European Championships in his own country he was able to finish in the last 32 in doubles.

In 2009 he became the Champions League winner . The following year he took part in the European Championship again, but achieved the same results as in 2008. In 2011 and 2012 he won bronze in doubles at the same tournament. Liwenzow could not take part in the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , but won bronze in doubles at the Russian Open in 2013.

He was also able to win the bronze medal with the team at the European Championship and in 2014 bronze at the Grand Finals in doubles with Michail Paikow. In 2015 he took part in the European Games, among other things, where he reached the quarter-finals with the team. In 2016 he won the Bulgarian Open and again took bronze at the Grand Finals in doubles with Paikow. In 2017 he took part in the European Championship before he was less active in 2018.
