Gazprom Fakel Orenburg is a Russian table tennis club from Orenburg , which plays in the first Russian table tennis league and in the European Champions League . Its main sponsor is Gazprom .

The club was founded on October 20, 2001 and rose to the first Russian league in 2004. In the first year he won the championship. In 2005 he played internationally for the first time and immediately finished tenth. In 2006 he won the championship and cup double for the first time. This success was repeated in 2008. In 2011 Gazprom Fakel Orenburg won the Russian championship for the fourth time and made his debut in the European Champions League , where Orenburg made it to the final straight away. The club made its final breakthrough in 2012 when it won both the Russian championship and the European Champions League. In 2013, the team managed to defend their title in a tight final against Chartres ASTT. In 2015 Orenburg won the title again in the finals against Borussia Düsseldorf (1: 3, 3: 0). In 2016 they failed in the semi-finals, as in the final in 2014, to AS Pontoise-Cergy TT . In 2013 and 2015, the club won the Russian championship more times, while in 2014 and 2016 they lost to UGMK Verkhnyaya Pyschma , whose top player Jun Mizutani was signed by Orenburg for the 2016/17 season. With this new line-up, Orenburg won the Champions League for the fourth time in 2017 .
In 2007 a table tennis center was built in Orenburg.
