Alexiad
The Alexiad ( Greek Ἀλεξιάς Alexia ) is around the year 1148 by the Byzantine historian Anna Comnena , daughter of Emperor I. Alexios , written historical work. It consists of 15 books in which the political and military history of the Byzantine Empire from the first military successes of their father under the emperors Michael VII and Nikephorus III. about his reign (1081–1118) until his death is described. It is one of the most important sources of information about the Byzantine and Middle Ages.
