Alfons Kemper

Alfons Kemper (* 1958 ) is a German computer scientist and full professor at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich . His research area is database systems .

Life

Kemper studied computer science from 1977 to 1981 at the University of Dortmund and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and then received his doctorate . From 1984 to 1991 he worked as a university assistant at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) and completed his habilitation there. In 1991 he was appointed to the Chair of Computer Science III at RWTH Aachen University , and two years later he was given a C4 professorship in Computer Science at the University of Passau . In 2004 he was appointed to the Chair of Computer Science III (database systems) at the Technical University of Munich . The chair is involved in the Bavarian elite degree in software technology.
