Alfons Vogtel

Alfons Vogtel (born June 9, 1952 in Hüttigweiler ) is a German politician and member of the CDU .

education and profession

After attending school and community service, Vogel attended the Catholic University of Applied Sciences for Social Work from 1974 to 1977. 1977 to 1978 he completed an internship at the youth welfare office of the Saarpfalz district. He then worked as a social worker in the youth center in Bexbach until 1980. In 1980 he changed to the youth welfare office of the Saarpfalz district as head of youth care .

In 2007 he became the managing director of the SHG Group , a Saarland clinic operator. In 2019 he retired. In addition to his work as managing director of SHG, Vogtel was honorary chairman of the Saarländische Krankenhausgesellschaft, an interest group of the Saarland clinics, from 2012 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2018

politics

Vogtel joined the Junge Union in 1966 and the CDU three years later. From 1966 to 1975 he was on the local board of the Junge Union, the district board of the Junge Union and the state executive, there also as deputy state chairman of the Junge Union. From 1973 to 1975 he was represented in the German Council of the Junge Union. From 1982 he was deputy district chairman of the CDU Neunkirchen. Since 1989 he has been parliamentary group spokesman for the CDU in the Illingen municipal council.

In 1985 he replaced the deceased MP Werner Scherer in the Saarland state parliament . There he had been deputy chairman of his group since 1999. He was a member of the health and social affairs and the environment committees . He resigned his state parliament mandate after he was appointed managing director of Saarland-Heilstätten on April 1, 2007 .
