history

Gentner Verlag was founded in 1927 as a family-run specialist publisher for technology and medicine. Alfons Gentner Sr. became self-employed as a bookbinder and thus laid the foundation for the publishing company. In 1946 his son Alfons W. Gentner received a publishing license from the Allies . In the same year, the "Schwäbische Illustrierte" appeared for the first time, making it the first illustrated magazine in southern Germany. From 1959 the company concentrated on trade magazines . The publisher has also been publishing in digital media for several years. There is a website for almost all specialist journals as well as pure online specialist portals.
