Alfons Weiser

Alfons Weiser (born February 18, 1934 in Wölfelsgrund , Habelschwerdt district , Lower Silesia ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and exegete (New Testament scholar).

biography

After being expelled after the Second World War, he began an apprenticeship as a locksmith at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, which he graduated with honors, then entered the Order of the Pallottines (SAC) and studied theology and philosophy, having passed the Abitur and Latinum, Graecum and had acquired Hebraicum. His dissertation "The Parables of Servants in the Synoptic Gospels" was chosen as the best of its year. After his doctorate, Father Alfons Weiser was professor for New Testament exegesis at the Philosophical-Theological College of the Pallottines in Vallendar until his retirement . Weiser is a member of the KDB Franco-Borussia zu Würzburg in the RKDB .
