Alfonsas Grumbinas (born August 15, 1943 in Jonava ) is a Lithuanian rugby player and international referee (from 1977).

Life

After graduating from the Jonava Middle School from 1950 to 1960 , he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Kaunas from 1960 to 1965 and from 1988 to 1990 at the College for Foreign Languages ​​and Management in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . From 1966 to 1983 Grumbinas taught at the Vilnius Polytechnic . From 1983 to 1989 he was deputy director, from 1991 professor at the Vilnius College . From 1988 to 1994 he was a senior teacher at the Vilnius Electronics High School .

Sports

Alfonsas Grumbinas was the Lithuanian rugby champion four times (1965, 1966, 1968, 1975), four times the winner of Lietuvos taurė (1966, 1968, 1972, 1975), 13 times he was the best rugby referee in the Soviet Union (1974-1987), 19 times he was registered as one of the top ten Soviet rugby referees (1970-1989). Grumbinas has been FIRA Vice-President since 2008 . He is a member of LTOK .
