Alfonso Alonzo Lima

Alfonso Alonzo Lima (also: Alfonso Alonso Lima ) is a former Guatemalan foreign minister .

Life

From July 18 to August 4, 1979 , the then Deputy Foreign Minister Lima was kidnapped by the Fuerzas Armadas Rebeldes (FAR). The FAR sent a message to US Ambassador Frank V. Ortiz Jr. demanding the release of two members of the FAR.

He was released after the government released a guerrilla statement.

The Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a photo of Lima stamped 18th SET 1979 on the back. In the coup regime of Efraín Ríos Montt , Alonso became foreign minister.
