Oswald Burger is a historian and author in Überlingen on Lake Constance and made a decisive contribution to researching the “ Goldbacher Stollen ” in Überlingen. The tunnel was driven into the rock by prisoners from a satellite camp of the Dachau concentration camp in the west of the city of Überlingen in the Second World War , in order to be able to shelter the armaments industry from Friedrichshafen safe from Allied bombing. Many prisoners were killed during this work due to inhumane working conditions. Some of them are buried in the Birnau concentration camp cemetery . Oswald Burger founded the Association Documentation Center Goldbacher Stollen and KZ Aufkirch in Überlingen eV , which set itself the task of working through the history of the mine. The aim is to depict the events and to keep them from being forgotten. In addition, Oswald Burger wrote several books that deal with those persecuted by National Socialism in Überlingen.
